Wood is a natural and renewable source of energy. It is a carbon neutral fuel, in that any carbon released by burning wood has previously been extracted from the atmosphere while the plant was growing.  In addition to the environmental benefits of burning wood, it is also a much cheaper fuel source than oil or gas. 

Wood pellets have been established in Europe for nearly two decades.
